The fully trained, specialised and experienced medical and nursing personnel of the Gastroenterology Department of Athens Doctors’ General Clinic, supported by modern equipment, has the ability to provide reliable and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the digestive system, in particular the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, liver, bile and pancreas. Endoscopies can be performed using sedation medications, so that to minimise patients’ discomfort, therefore it is advisable to avoid driving when the patient leaves the hospital.

- Liver diseases: the liver performs very important functions and is our largest internal organ. Processes of defense, substance degradation, storage and many others are carried out by the liver. It is a sensitive organ and susceptible to many factors such as alcohol. There are many diseases of the liver among which are Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, Cancer and many others.
- Diseases of the gallbladder: The gallbladder is a small sac under the liver. It stores bile which is carried to the duodenum and helps digest fats. Some diseases of the gallbladder are Cholecystitis, Gallstones, Gallstones, Cancer, Abscess in the gallbladder and others.
